Summer Roads

Summer Roads 2013

"Summer, perhaps more than any other season, has a tendency to produce songs that are evocative of that season. They are the kinds of songs we throw into yearly "Song of the Summer" competitions and turn to full volume when they come on the radio. As of late, we’ve veered towards beat-driven pop (“Blurred Lines,” “Get Lucky”) or the Americana-musings of Mumford & Sons or the Lumineers, but on “Summer Roads,” Dan Godlin is taking a more traditional approach. Anchored in guitar and piano melodies, Godlin’s high-reaching vocals describe the summer shenanigans and youthful indiscretion that you only find on the aforementioned roads."

Together Now

Together Now 2013

"Thankfully, 'Together Now' was one of those songs that pretty much wrote itself," Godlin told ARTISTdirect about the bright, sunny song. "It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while, there is this special synergy among the lyrics, rhythm, phrasing and melody that comes out of nowhere, and it just fits." The Americana-rhythm-inspired song is an honest take on what Dan believes is the key to a successful relationship -- "'A little you, a little me.' It's about compromise, understanding, taking risks, being there for one another and making the good years last," says Godlin.
If you dig Ed Sheeran or John Mayer, you will dig "Together Now."

Close Enough (prod. Rob Grimaldi)

Close Enough (prod. Rob Grimaldi) 2013

In the vein of contemporary artists like Justin Beiber or Jason Derulo with an All Time Low twist, this upbeat track "Close Enough" works perfectly for the dance club. It’s probably a more radio friendly song, but if well promoted, it can become a hit and turn Dan Godlin into a star. It will be really hard for you not to get on your feet and start dancing along to this song in a club, your car, or your bedroom."

In Between - EP

In Between - EP 2013

Putting romance on the back burner, this EP revolves around the "quarter-life crisis" Dan found himself in after graduating college. He writes about an entire generation of young adults (like himself) struggling with the dichotomy between actual reality and the “follow your heart” fairytale they were raised to believe. It's interesting to hear what happens when "DREAM BIG" meets the "real world".

Loving On Empty

Loving On Empty 2012

Dan's debut album speaks about the uncertainty of love. It paints the picture of a young man navigating through different levels of intimacy and discoveing there are positive and negative consequences to it all. Many would say it's written from the perspective of angst and frustration, but also empathy and compassion. Catchy, current, and easily your next road trip album!
